The Public Interest Institute (Institute) is an organization established to ensure that there is public interest representation in matters affecting Canadian consumers. Among other things, it represents the interests of Canadians by conducting research, developing policies and regulatory creating public awareness and participating in public proceedings. Particularly, the Institute is involved in issues relating to the telecommunications and broadcasting and how they affect consumers.

The Public Interest institute is run by a team of volunteers, lawyers and researchers.

STAFF

KEHINDE OLALERE- FOUNDER/ DIRECTOR

Kehinde Olalere is the Founder and Director of the Public Interest Institute.

Before becoming the Director of the Institute, Mr. Kehinde Olalere worked as an Articling student with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). Afterwards, he worked as a Legal Counsel for CRTC advising the Commission on regulatory and policy matters affecting the telecommunication and broadcasting industries.

Mr. Kehinde Olalere was born in Montreal, Quebec. In 1998, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Law. In 2003, he graduated with a law degree (LL.B.) from the University of Windsor Law School. Afterwards, he passed his bar exams and was admitted as a lawyer to the Ontario Bar in 2004.

TAIWO OLALERE- LEGAL COUNSEL

Mr. Taiwo Olalere manages his own law firm, Olalere Law Office, in Ottawa, Canada. He practices primarily in the area of administrative law. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science from Carleton University, and a law degree (LL.B) from University of Windsor Law School. In addition, he has a wide experience in administrative matters, and issues affecting Canadian consumers. He works on a voluntary basis on behalf of Public Interest Institute and has participated in proceedings before the various administrative bodies.
