SLOYA is the new Sri Lanka Ottawa Youth Association. We are a group of young Sri Lankans living in Ottawa, Canada who like to get together, host and take part in various Sri Lankan events, raise money for causes back in Sri lanka and the Sri lankan commnity here and just have fun being Sri Lankan.

We used to be known as the Sri Lanka Canada Youth Association (SLYCA) and we just changed the name to give it a more local feeling. We are associated with the Sri Lanka Canada Association of Ottawa (SLCAO). We are starting a whole new chapter in the Sri Lankan youth association in Ottawa as we have new leadership and have lots of fun events planned thoughout the year.

But we can't do any of this without your help. We need your participation, your talents, your ideas and your input to succeed. Our first meeting as SLOYA was held on Sunday, February 25th at the Heron Road Community Center (1480 Heron Road). We had a wonderful turnout and we talked about a lot of fun and exciting ideas for our future events. We'd love to have even more youth join the group! So if you are a Sri Lankan living in Ottawa and you are between the ages of 15-30, we'd love to see you join SLOYA.

This website is brand new and we are still adding sections to it. In the mean time join our message board, our mailing list and browse through the website to get a feel for what we want to do this year.
